Sworn Translations and Legalization

Based on contract No. 433/95-00-150/2001 with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Republic of Bulgaria Translation Services Skrivanek Ltd. is authorized to do official translations of documents and other papers from Bulgarian into foreign languages and from foreign languages into Bulgarian.

SKRIVANEK is a mediator in legalization of documents and other papers, which in Bulgaria is done by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and abroad – by the diplomatic missions of the Republic of Bulgaria. This is why, we do not charge extra fees for certification and legalization. If you decide to use our services, you will pay for the translation and the fees collected for consular services by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in accordance with the Law for state fees and the fees, collected by the diplomatic missions of Bulgaria abroad.

Please, keep in mind that:

1. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Republic of Bulgaria offers the following deadlines for legalization and certification of documents and other papers:
   
   • regular service: 3 business days
   • fast service: for the next day
   The fees for the two services are different.
2. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Republic of Bulgaria legalizes documents and other papers from another country, only if they are certified by the diplomatic mission of the respective country or of the mission of the country representing it.
3. After the legalization by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs the document has to be taken for legalization to the diplomatic mission of the respective country.
4. The fees calculated by the diplomatic missions of other countries are defined by them and vary for the different countries and the different documents.

• A list of the countries with which Bulgaria has signed an agreement for legal help – for these countries the legalization of the documents in their diplomatic missions is not necessary.
• A list of the signed the Convention for the removal of legalization of the foreign public acts, composed in Hague on Oct. 5, 1961. (Convention 12)
